Deepest Sympathy on the death of Bridie from all the O'Connell and Collins families in Ireland.

My Dad Tim-Joe O'Connell has fond memories of his sister Bridie. Bridie was 8 years older than Dad. He remembers her as always being nice to him, calm and strong. He and Bridie were two of a family of nine siblings living with their parents on a farm in Ballydesmond in North Cork, Ireland. The house did not have electricity or running water and farm machinery was pulled by horses. so there was a lot of work to be done. As well as her other jobs it was Bridie's particular job to put the hens in their house at the top of the 'haggart' (a small enclosed field beyond the barn) every evening. Dad often accompanied her; sometimes the door would stick and she would have to put her shoulder to it to close it, she was well able for this. Of the nine siblings only my dad and his sister Teresa (Collins) are still living. May Bridie rest in peace and we will be thinking of you all tomorrow.
